Sorry, that I've been slacking updating this.
June 18th CTD.
So after the writing tour, I was not sure what I wanted to do. Part of me wanted to go back to the AirBnB and then go back out for dinner and stuff later. But I also was already downtown. So I made my way to Holyrood Park (Queens /Kings Park).
Before going there, I walked through the Meadows. The Meadows is a huge public park in the middle of Edinburgh. You can see Arthur's seat from the Meadows. It is really beautiful and I have some pictures of it. I saw some people juggling, playing football, reading, it was just really great.
I then walked to Holyrood park, which has some high land structures formed by an extinct volcano. And to quote Wikipedia, Arthur's Seat and the Salisbury Crags adjoining it helped form the ideas of modern geology as it is currently understood. There are stone stairs going up to the highest peaks and very paths and things you can climb. But it's a bit frightening. I scaled some stuff that I probably shouldn't have. Fortunately, there were a lot of people nearby just in case. One particular thing, some guys were coming down this rock while I wanted to climb up and I asked them to wait for me and they did.
The views were phenomenal. I've never seen something so wonderful in my life. The walk back took a rather long time. And it was about 6 or so before I left the top. I met a nice woman who asked me to take her picture and she took mine. There was also a pond in the park, there was a family walking their dog and he was wading near the banks. The whole park used to be a royal hunting estate. I also saw an interesting bird that I have never seen before.
I found a bus back to the AirBnB and walked to the grocery to get dinner. I turned in rather early, with the sun just going down at 22:00pm. I had to be up early to catch the bus to Heathrow.
