Ma hovercraft's breemin' ower wi eels

So in the last entry I stopped writing at the airport. The flight to Edinburgh was easy enough, but I was almost late because they bussed us to our plane and that leaves about 15 minutes before the flight does. We were then delayed on the runway. I dozed off pretty quickly and it's sad I couldn't have done that before.

Last Wednesday, my Scotland AirBnB host said he wouldn't be available to give me the keys and that I should go to a bar to pick them up. The bus from the airport to the bar was fantastic. Edinburgh looks amazing. I cannot wait to take pictures of it tomorrow.

Anyway, so I get to the bar and I walk in the way Google Maps tells me to and I see photographs being taken for a Scottish wedding. The ring bearer was wearing a kilt and talking to a groomsmen, also wearing a kilt. An employee told me there was a front to go in. There is a security guard or bouncer or something out front and I ask to speak to the manager so I can get the key and he was difficult to convince. It felt like a real quest where I had to use some form of persuasion or charisma. In this case, it was rephrasing my question 100 ways. It worked out in the end and the first person I talked to inside knew what I was talking about.

I then had a beer and more wedding people showed up and I started wondering if I hadn't crashed some wedding reception (as it turns out, I didn't, but more on that). The beer was good, but I probably shouldn't have ordered it or at least ordered a smaller one, because I wanted to get out of there.

I took another bus to get to Tynecastle. First time on the top floor of a double decker bus. Did I mention Edinburgh is beautiful? So I get to my AirBnB and get settled. I have a nice little room as part of his flat on the 3rd and highest floor. I go get some dinner at a place that only takes cash, I don't have cash so I go back upstairs to get some. It's about 22:00 at this point and it's STILL bright out, which feels different.

My host arrived and he was nice. He doesnt seem to like the castle tour, although I'm doing it anyways. He also let me try some of his Gin collection. I typically do not fancy gin, but there is a plum and vanilla that is sold below the pub I was in earlier. I am most certainly bringing home. It was delicious.

He decided to go out (it is Saturday after all) and I am going to bed. Although, it seems I have skipped the whole going to bed on time thing. Maybe tomorrow.

Hopefully tomorrow, I will be able to take some good pictures.

This is a city of shifting light, of changing skies, of sudden vistas.
